 "NO PLANET B"

Alpen-Adria-Galerie, Klagenfurt, Austria

Tue Dec 16th, 2025 - Sun Feb 15th, 2026

The challenges of climate change and the urgency of protecting our natural environment affect us all. With the open art competition >NO PLANET B<, the city of Klagenfurt – as part of the EU climate and environmental protection project ‘CLARITY’ – invited visual artists from Carinthia to address issues of ecological responsibility and the protection of our planet.

The exhibition, featuring selected works from many submissions, impressively demonstrates that contemporary art is still capable of making important issues – such as the preservation of biodiversity and natural habitats – emotionally tangible.
Through painting, graphic art, photography and objects, artists address the effects of human activity on the Earth's ecosystem, offering not only critical reflection but also appealing to the power of change.
Art cannot prevent environmental destruction or undo climate change, but with its diverse means and languages, it can make visible what is under threat and thus encourage greater awareness and responsibility.
